Europe Day – 9 May 2024

Dare more Europe

Together for Europe strives for a European culture firmly rooted in its Christian foundation. It therefore says a clear YES to a Europe of reconciliation, unity in diversity, encounter, dialogue and peace, mercy and proximity.

It is part of the culture of Togetherness to be aware of the historical and current wounds, and thus to make a firm commitment to unity and reconciliation.

Currently, this culture in Europe is being strongly challenged: war and tensions in European countries where nationalist ambitions are becoming strong and powerful, and are putting the European peace project at risk.

In this precarious situation, it is important to maintain the convictions that characterise us as Together for Europe and to live them more than ever. We are convinced that a peaceful future for our continent depends on a united and cosmopolitan Europe, aware of its vocation for peace and unity.

Dare more Europe: that is what is needed today! Dare more Europe to promote peace and the well-being of peoples. As we approach Europe Day on 9 May, let us pray for our continent and give space for creativity, to witness together, in the most diverse ways, fraternal relationships.

From 6 to 9 June 2024, the days of the European elections, we are called upon to give voice to a Europe that fights for the culture of Togetherness.
